AboutUs

  • Oblong Pictures is an imaginary film company which specialises in making short stop-motion films using the popular children's toy, LEGO®.

There's also the occasional non-LEGO® film but we don't like to encourage that sort of thing.

Pneuma

This was made for the Kristin Hersh Learn To Sing Like A Star competition on youtube. Unfortunately, it was made about two months after the deadline so I was never really in with a chance of winning anything.

What you’re seeing here is a prime example of grand theft concept. Not only is the guy-with-lyrics-on-cards stolen from D A Pennebaker’s film for Bob Dylan’s Subterranean Homesick Blues, but the misheard lyrics joke is stolen from a couple of Maxell ads from the ’80s that stole the D A Pennebaker thing.

There’s not much else to say really. The only bit that required any animation skill is right at the end, where the guy picks his cards up. The rest was mostly an exercise in clicking the “Capture” button.
