World in (stop) motion

Well, I finished the mystery football project. I’m not 100% happy with it but I just didn’t have the time or resources to do it all justice.

For one thing, I only had enough bricks to make one section of the stadium, so that ended up getting re-used quite a lot. Added to that, the QuickCam Pro 9000 has quite a wide lens on it, which doesn’t lend itself to on-pitch action with a half-built set. As a result, there’s a lot of close-ups and some dirty tricks to hide the gaps. Hopefully, it looks ok on-screen.

It’s a commission for talkSPORT radio (their capitalisation, not mine) and they get an exclusive broadcast window for a couple of months. I’ll be encoding it tonight and sending it off to them. Once they’ve signed off on it and I have a link to share, I’ll post a news article about it. Some time around the end of July, I’ll put it up on my YouTube channel.

I did a rough audio scratch track with my own dialogue on it just to get the timing right but the plan is that they’ll be replacing it with some professional voice-over work. I hope so anyway, because I recorded it on my phone and the quality’s not great.

Now I just have to put all the LEGO away again.
